Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic services consist of a wide range of manipulative techniques designed to improve the function of the joints, relieving pain, and reducing muscle spasm. The actual physical treatment includes a gentle adjustment and an overall gentle manipulation of the body’s joints and soft tissues by hand. The word Chiropractic comes from the Greek words “praxis” meaning “to use” and “chiro” meaning “hand”. While chiropractic services are generally thought of as treatment directed to the spinal column, Dr. Addison is also trained to apply specialized myofascial therapies (the release of tension and pain in soft tissues and surrounding muscles), rehabilitation, and manipulation of the upper and lower extremities.

Chiropractic treatment is used to reduce acute or chronic pain and increase mobility.  At Addison Sports Clinic, we utilize several different chiropractic techniques depending on patient tolerance and presenting condition. Dr. Addison utilizes Activator, manual diversified and flexion/ distraction depending on the patient and their needs.
